This data layer is the 2009 Duluth lakeshore summer orthophotography. It originated from the United States Geological Survey and includes parts of both St. Louis County, MN and Douglas County, WI at a 0.3 meter resolution. Orthophotography is extremely useful for determining land use and land cover. As a result of this, it can provide important context for specific locations and other spatial data. If multiple years are available, it can also be used to identify changes that take place on the landscape.
