The 2009 Northwest Border Summer orthophotography includes the northwest section (most of Kittson and western Roseau counties (MN), Pembina County (ND), and parts of southern Manitoba, Canada) of the northern border at a 0.3 meter resolution. It originated from the United States Geological Survey. Orthophotography is extremely useful for determining land use and land cover. Because of this, it can provide important context for specific locations and other spatial data. If multiple years are available, it can also be used to identify changes that take place on the landscape.
