Extent of available data.
This data layer identifies Conservation Opportunity Areas. It was developed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources. Conservation Opportunity Areas have been identified as high-priority conservation areas through the use of Marxan conservation software. They also meet additional criteria that include having significant and valuable natural features, local partners to work with, and a consensus on conservation goals and objectives that facilitate species mobility. These areas have been identified as having high conservation value and high viability. They should be considered for preservation projects.
