Extent of available data.
This data layer indicates the location of easements that are in the National Conservation Easement Database. It was developed by the US Endowment for Forestry & Communities in a collaborative venture to compile easement records from land trusts and public agencies throughout the United States. These conservation easements are legally binding restrictions placed on a piece of land to help meet conservation goals. These goals can include improving water quality, creating or improving wildlife habitat, and establishing or maintaining native plant communities - all of which have positive impacts on the surrounding environment.
