Extent of available data.
This data layer identifies land in the Natural Area Registry. It was developed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR) and includes tracts of public land that contain natural features of statewide ecological significance and possess exceptional scientific or educational value. Sites in this program are managed by local, state, or federal agencies using ecologically-based principles in coordination with the MN DNR Scientific and Natural Areas Program. This coordination helps protect a broader cross section of the state's natural diversity than would be possible by the MN DNR Scientific and Natural Areas Program alone.
