Extent of available data.
This data layer indicates the boundaries of Tribal lands. It was developed by the US Census Bureau. Tribal lands consist of Reservations (areas of land occupied by and managed by a Tribe) and Off-Reservation Trust Lands (land outside of a reservation that is held in trust for the benefit of a Tribe). Tribes generally have their own natural resource management programs and place significant value on maintaining healthy and productive ecosystems that allow their members to practice traditional hunting, fishing, and gathering.
